The House of Commons to-night voted the Budget. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir Michael Hicks-Beach) announced that he had agreed to make the tax on colonial bonds 2s 6d per cent
The mails ex P. and .0 Co.'s K.Rf.S. Ballarat, from Melbourne June 16th, were delivered yesteiday via Brindisi.
Natal, July 28. Transvaal Republic in a State
of Bankruptcy-. The Transvaal 'Republic is unable to meet its liabilities, and is in a state of bankruptcy.
