The manager reported yesterday as follows: —"1451bs of specimens have been obtained from the hangingwall portion of the reef at No. 3 level. 'ihe reef has been taken out at this point ou the level for over 30ft. in width ; the quartz that has been crushed from here has yielded about l^ozs per load. The reef in the eastern drive is about Bft. in thickness. There is a little improvement in the reef here ; about a foot of quartz on the bangingwall is carrying nice mineral. In the western drive, the men are driving from the eastern drive on the faangingwall of the reef where the gold is. There is good looking quarlz here, and colors of gold are seen in breaking it down. The reef in the eastern intermediate drive is about 6ft in thickness; gold is seen freely in the quartz on the hnngingwall portion cL tfre reef. In the western intermediate drive the reef is about 7ft in thickness ; there is nice mineral through the quartz, aDd gold i& seen frequently in it. The reef in No. 2 stope west is about 3ft in thickness; dabs of gold are seen in the stODe in breaking it down. The stopes above No. 2 level still continue to turn j out fair crushing dirt. The reef varies in j thickness in the stopes from 4 to 6ft. I i have six men working on No. 1 reef; there is a place here 25ft in width, all mixed up with stringers of quartz, and the most of them carrying a little gold ; this has all to be picked over, the quartz being selected from the mullock and sent to the battery.—H. W. Moobe." DARWIN. The manager reports for the past week as follows:-'; The.drive on the reef at No 3 level is m a distance of 132 ft from the ioint crosscut. There is nice looking country in the face ; and a stringer on the hanging wall of the reef is carrying nice mineral. Colors of gold are seen when breaking it down.
