OUR MINES.
CAMBRIA.
The usual fortnightly cleaning up for this company took place to-day for the excellent return of 5420zs lOdwts retorted gold. For this yield a total of 342 loads of general dirt and 1751b9 specimens hare been treated, the latter producing 1490zs odwts gold, while the general dirt contributed the remainder. This was reduced on melting to 5320zs lodwts. The various workings in the mine continue to look really well throughout. At No. 3 level, the reef lies so very flat that a drive has been put in on the underlie 20 or 30 feet. The quartz here looks well, and in breaking down last night the manager secured a further haul of ; 501bs specimens. There is an abundance of stratamata and other favorable minerals in the stone, while gold is showing about a foot from the floor of the level, which speaks well for the cbatices of the run of gold carrying downwards. The western drive is coming round to meet this drive. The leading slope over the drive has had to remain in abeyance, while the men were shooting iuto the banging wall of the reef. In the intermediate level eastward the quartz looks very kindly, and colors of gold are occasionally seen. In the western drive at the same level, the quartz is of a somewhat rubbly nature, and should, crush well. Colors of gold are seen, when breaking the reef, and gold has also been seen in a vein on the hangingwall. Two stopea are in progress ore?
