After a lengthened series of experiments, Mr Brennan's new torpedo has at length been adopted by the English Government, and the newspapers are full of praises of the invention. There are various rumors as to the reward which the young Australian is to receive for his novel and extraordinary weapon. The sums mentioned range from £40,000 to £100,000. Of much more importance, however, Is the confident assertion that Mr Brennan has actually been paid £10,000 on account.
