Supreme Court Sessions.

At the Civil Sessions of the Supreme Court, Dr Caldwell, of Kawakawa, recovered £50 damages against Geo. Brewer, blacksmith, for slandering hia professional ability in setting the leg of Brewer's son. Dr Caldwell is a son of Dr Caldwell, Bishop of Madras. —In the case of George Elliott, of Deniliquin, N.S.W , v. Thomas Hancock, brewer, for alleged libel, published in the " .Recollections of the Life of Thos Hancock," the judce summed up strongly for defendant. Verdict, damages £200. Chbistchtjkch, Yesterday. Thos. Hough and W. Percival were to-day found guilty before the Supreme Court of conspiracy with intent to defraud the N.Z. Eailway Department.
