Medical - ; — FIRST PRIZE A.A. and P.A. EXHIBITION 1883.— .£I,OOO KEWARD—Caution. Ask for Hitchens's Blood Restorer, THE GREAT NEW ZEALAND KEMEDY FOE CLEANSING, PURIFYING, AND INVIGOBATING THE BLOOD. THE Propriotor, in explaining why he has not for some time pushed the sale of the above, would state that he recoivcd Bueh a serious check by the disastrous fire which destroyed ■ costly appliances end a magnificent stock of prepared herba' (recactly replaced), arid h^ bus not therefore been in a position to come before the public. He baa not been ablo to 68friofv all the local and foreign demands, and was unable to administer as extensively hs he could have desired to the wants of a suffering world. MK.HIICHEHS is now happy to state that he is cnce again in a position to supply thia health-giving Medicine, which he is convinced will, " with the blessing of God," cure almost any disorder, owing to its irreeictiblo yet gentle operation. In coming before the public and planting his standard onco more on tbe ramparts of the great enemy of mankind—i.e., sickness—he trusts that, an overruling Providence will bless his future efforts to mitigate the physical woes of man. In this evening's Stab appear a few of tbe hundreds of testimonials received by Mr Hitchens, one of which is from one of Auckland's best known citizens. It requires no further oommenfc than * to say that his illness was of a most severe type, baffling the skill of medical men, while other infallible remedies were tried without the slightest change for the better. Here it what Captain Faeqtthab aays of HITCH ENS' BLOOD RESTORER :— Auckland, October 15, 1883. —Dear Sir, —For twelve months I suffered severely trom sciatica, and tried various remedies, without avail, and as a last resource I was reoompao*l*^ to give your Blood Restorer a trial, which I did, und I have much pleasure in testifyiiftg that after taking it for three months I completely recovered my health. -I may say I had no'fejfc^ j in it at firet, but the result was such a thorough cure that I consider it my duty to acknowledge, unsolicited, its curative powers.—l am, Sir, faithfully yours, W. Fabqtjhab, Master Mariner, Ponsonby.—To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. . The Proprietor would here intimate that £1,000 viil be forfeited to any Charitable Instituti: n if the good done by bis Medicine has been over estimated. The Proprieter is prepared to meet on a public platform any persons wbp dispute the veracity of testimonials, and he will undertake to prove tbe genuineneßß of the cures effected. He ie bleo willing to meet in public the medical gentlemen who have attPtded the patient* and have pronounced them incurable, and answer questions put relative to the facts of the cases quoted. Medical men's names have, from motives of consideration, been excluded from all testimonials, but then personal acknowledgment would add increased brilliancy to the ia-ae of the medicine. Mr Alex. Eaghetoh, Hairdresser, of Queen street, Auckland, suffered with & paralysed arm, with, every indication oi tho disease spreading through the body. The dectors pro* nounced the case hopeless, and friends believed his end was drawing near, when he was induced to give Hitchens's Blood Beetercr a trial, the result beiDg »n immediate change for the better; and on continuing to take the medicine, he waa completely restored to health and strength. Mr D. E. Chibboim, Agent for Mr Hitohehs.—Dear Sir,—lt is with heartfelt thanks I am able to endorse tho sterling qualities of Mr Hitcbens's invaluable Blood Bestorer. Being induced by Mr Disber, who spoke in eulogistic forms of its merits, to place my wife (who was suffering very acutely with Bheumatic Fever) under its treatment, I am very happy to state the medicine has acted quite magically. After a few doges pain entirely ceased, and she is making rapid progress, and is now enabled to resume her household duties. Acting to beneficially, I would not be without such a valuable remedy, and should impress upon these who are similarly suffering not to overlook this specific, which is inestimable.—Believe me, yours very sincerely, THOMAS BROWN, Brittania Heights, Nelson. ■'■■■■-; f J?-' Maraiti (near Howick), Auckland, 17th August, 1882. To H. A. H. Hitcuehs.—Sir,—l bad been for five years suffering from an ulcerated ' leg, and after being twice under treatment in the Auckland Hospital, without any improvement, I was induced to give your blood restorer a trial, end sm proud to say after four bottles and the use of your Ointment, I became quite well. Please accept my warmest thanks, and . give this what publicity you wieh, that others may benefit thereby.—Yours,moßtrespectfully, • CHARLES MORGAN, Maraiti. Sheridan street, off' Wellington street, Auckland, Dec. 1,1882. Me Hitchbks.—Dear Sir, —As you have neked me to describe my state at the time Mr McMillan recommended me to use your Blood Bestorer, and" the effect it had on me, I will eimply say that whether it was Lumbago, Sciatica, or Paralysis that made me so helpless, I do not know ; but, at any rate, I was unable to stand for nine months, and had to be lifted* like a baby, and my taste was entirely gone. Dr ■ ■ — eaid I had an affection of the spine, and that I should never have the use of my limbs again. He brought another medical man to see me, and I was told that I would probably live only a short time, and it was no use of their holding out false hopes. I thanked them, and felt as they did. Mr McMillan, living opposite, inquired what was the matter, and my husband told him. He at once Paid, "Let her take Mr Hitchen's Blood Bestorer, for I believe that will put her all right." I did ao, and after using the third bottle in the third week, I begon to feel a change, and a tingling sensation in my limbs. Every subsequent bottle etemed to be doing me more good. The result is that after using eight bottlee, 1 &in now quite well, do my own washing, and all the housework, and feel quite ac well ob when I first c&me to.Dew Zealand five years .; ago. I am always happy to tell people the good you did me, for lam sure I should not now be well and hearty, but most likely in my grave, if I had not put myself in your hands, —lam, dear air, yours faithfully, FLOBA NICOL. As.a remedy of general utility, we much question whether a better is imported into the country, and we shall be glad" to hear cf its finding a place in every Anglo-Indian home. The other brands, wo are happy to say, are now relegated to tbe native bazaars, and, judging from their sale, we ncy their sojourn there will be but evanescent. We could multiply instances ad inftnii m of the extraordinary efficacy of Db. Coins Bbownb's Chiobodynh in Diarrhoea and Dytontery, Spasms, Cramps, Neuralgia, the Vomiting of Pregnancy, and as a general sedative, that nave occurred under our personal ■ observation during many years. In Choleraic Diarrhoea, and even in the more .terrible forms of Cholera itself, we have witnessed its surprisingly controlling power. We have never used any other form of this medicine than Collis Browne's, from a firm conviction that it is .decidedly the best, and also from a sense of duty we owe to the profession and the public, as^ we are of opinion that the substitution of any other than Collis Browne's is a deiibebatb ;' /^— BBBAOH OF FAITH OK THE FABT 0?
