The reef at No. 3 level continues to look well, end shows excellent minerals. In breaking down the harigingwall portion last night, the'manager, secured 351bs of specimens. The stone canse to hsnd at a point about 4ft. from the floor of the drive; so that there is now every proba bility of the run of gold carrying downwards. A little gold is still showing in the fp.ce. The manager reported yesterday as follows :—-" The eastern drive at No. 3 level is now in a distance of 55ft. fr'<vm the winze. The reef is about 9ft. ,in thickness; there is about a foot'of, the hangingwal! portion carrying nice mineral. but" I have, seen no gold in it. In the western dri?e at this level I have commenced to drive back towards the wide place at the end of the crosscut, where the gold is being got in stringers of qnarlz on the hancingwall; gold is seen here in taking the stuff out. Four men are working on the hangingwall portion of the reef at the end of the crosscut, two of the men are driving to meet the men that are driving from fhe western drive. 54lbs of" specimens xrero obtained from this baDgingwall portion during the week. The western in termed v ate drive is in a distance of 62ft. from the winze ; there is about Bft. of crushing dirt being taken out here; gold is frequently seen in breaking the quartz down. The eastern intermediate drive is in a distance j of 65ft. from the winze; there is a nice mineral vein on the hangingwall carrying a little gold- The reef here is abou" 5 feet in thickness. Good crushing dirt is coming to hand from the slopes above No. 2 level; gold is occasionally seen in breaking the quaitz out. No. 8 stope is along a distance of 58ft. from the winze; No 9 stope is in 15ft. from the winze ; No. 10 stope is up (o within sft. of the Darwin boundary. Stoping operations are still being carried on on No. 1 reef, a little gold being seen in the stringers of quartz. At one place it is 18ft. in width. 15lbs of picked stone were obtained from here at intervals dur ing the week. 152 loads of quartz have been crushed since we cleaned up for 6940zs of amalgam. There is on hand 541bs of specimens and 151bs picked stcne.—-H. W. Moore." DARWIN. The manager reports for the past week as follow 8 :—" The western drive is in a distance of 124 ft from the joint crosscut; there is a great improvement in the reef ! in the face of the drive ; 51bs of specimens were obtained from here last night. The gold is more in the solid quartz than I have seen it at this level. No. 2 stope is up to the Cambria boundary; No. 3 stope has been stoped from the winze. Colors of gold were seen here to day when breaking down the reef. —H. W. Moobe." GOLD EETUENS. JTuhaeot Hill.—A crushing for Grubb and party, tributer?, has produced 4ozs 2dwts gold.
