The Ph»nix Company, at Skippers', hare crushed 300 tons of stone for the yield of 3300zs retorted gold. The Star understands that it is contemplated by the principal iron factories in Dunedin, if Bradshaw's clause passes, to dismiss from their employ all young persons under 18 years of age. One reason is, that whereas under the present arrangement the Saturday half holiday is made up by all hands working an extra half hour on Monday, under the clause that arrangement is impossible.
