Thames Harbor Board.
The usual meeting of the above Beard was held at the Borough Council Chambers at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Present:—Messrs Bawden (in the Chair), Brodie, Smith, Bead, Wood, and Stead* manThe minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Harbormaster reported to the following effect:—The beacon at Kopu had been re-erected, and the one in Shortland channel replaced by a buoy. He had been interviewed by Mr Gillespie re charges upon the plant expected to arrive here shortly for Mr La Monte to go up country, who said that if the Board charged wharfage on the plant it would be shipped up country direct from Auckland, causing.the work to be done by an Auckland firm iv place of our local steam company. Inquiries had been made fortailiog allotments, but the report recommended that they be held over for the erection of La Monte's furnace. [Left Sitting].
