GISBOURNE.
This day. At the Supreme Court, the following sentences and judgments have been passed :—Kaeremia Maiwai, horsestealing, 9 months; W. Kelly, unnatural offence, 2c years; Henry Featherston, arson, 12 months ; Arapie Earoa, perjury, 30 days; K. Streeter, larceny, 12 months. Civil cases—W. L. Eees v. Toheriri and others, recovery of scrip valued at £7750, verdict for defendants; Murchie t. Victoria Insurance Company, £1000 and interest, verdict for plaintiff with costs. In the case Skillicorn r. Union Insurance Company, a claim of £994 for wool destroyed by fire, plaintiff was nonsuited, on the ground that no stamped policy was issued.
