The Government has received a telegram from • the manager of McLeod's Soap Works, Dunedin, stating that they do not wish for any duty to be placed on soap. The report of the Standing Orders Committee on Mr McAndrew's motion for the House meeting at 10.30 in the forenoon, will be discussed in the House this morning.
