Waiorongomai Mining.
New Find.—-Work is being pushed ahead on the reef from the low level, three shifts of men being kept steadily employed, in order to connect with the winze sunk from the Arizona level as soon as possible. Directly this connection has been effected, stopini* out this large block will be proceeded with vigorously. Tbe reef continues to look exceedingly well, with gold showing every breaking down. The trial parcel of 18 trucks from tbe reef in this drive, crushed last week, gave the very satisfactory return of 290 mof retorted gold. No. 1 reef and the stones above Arizona level still look well, with a very fair show of gold to be seen, and the yield at the battery continues satisfactory. The dirt now being broken out from the surface of No. 1 reef appears of good quality, with good gold showing in the stone. The recent returns from tbe bat> tery exhibit a very great improvement, and are really good.
Premier.—The work now progressing in this mine consists of sinking a winze on No. 2 reef, so as to intersect the intermediate level, and the manager expects to have boled through by about the middle of next week, after which crushing will be commenced at once. A little gold is to be seen in the winze.
At the battery, the whole of the tailings plant, and the 20 head of stampers, are now employed for the New Find.-* "News.
