Wellington, Yesterday. The Legislative Council met at two ' o'clock, when His Excellency the Governor opened Parliament in person, the Chamber being attended by tho members of both branches of the legislature. After the Governor's Speech had beea read the tnembprs.of the .House of Representatives returned to their own chamber. The Council met again at 2 30, when the Speaker read tho papers. - The- Hon. P.A^'Buckley iaid'bn* tie' table several,papers.-.;;, >; ] A message was received from the Governor notifying the appointments to the Council of the following new members, who took the; oath .and their seats: — HobertPharazyn, Shrimski, Shepbard, and Swansbn. The Hon. P. A. Buckley gave notice to move for the 1 appointment of the usual Sessional Committee. - ■■*■■■?'"- ti 'On the motion of the Hon. Mr Buckley, a committee was appointed, consisting of Hops, Baillie, Pbarazyn, Shephard, Swan* son, and the mo.ver, to prepare • the Address in'Eeply. . ■The CoUnial Secretary gave notice of his intention to introduce several bills, and the Council adjourned at 2.45 p.m.
