Medical : — FIRST PRIZE A.A. Arf» P.A. EXHIBITION 1883. — £1,000 REWARD.—Caution. Ask for Hitchens's Blood Restorer, THE GREAT NEW ZEALAND REMEDY FOB CLEANSING, PU BIPYING, AND IN VIC ORATING / THE BLOOD. THE Proprietor, in explaining why he has not for gome time pushed the isle of the above, \.ould state tbat he received such a serious check by the disastrous fire which destroyed costly appliances and a magnificent stock of prepared herbs (recently replaced), and he hat not^therefore been in a position to come before the public. He has pot been able to satisfy all the local and foreign demands, and was unable to adn mister as extensively as he could have desired to...the. wants of a suffering world. MR HIICHENS i» now happy to state that he is once again in a position to supply this health-giving Medicine, which he .is con* ..yinced will, '* with -the blessing of God," cure almost any disorder, owing to its irresistible yet gentlo operation. In coining before the public and planting hie standard onoe more on the ramparts of the great enemy of mankind—i.e., sickness—he trusts that an overruling Providence will bless his future efforts to mitigate the physical woes of man. In thii evening's Stab appear a few of the hundreds of testimonials received by Mr Hitchent, one of which is from one of Auckland's best known citizens. It requires no further comment than to say that bis illness was of a moat severe type, baffling the skill of medical men, while other infallible remedies were tried without the slightest change for the belter. Here is what Captain Fabqtjhab says of JEUTOHENB' BLOOD RESTORER:— Anckland, October 15, 1883.—Dear Sir, —For twelve months I suffered severely from. sciatica, and tried various remedies, without avail, and as a last resource I was recommended to give your Blood Restorer a trial, which I did, and I have much pleasure in testifying that after taking it for three months I completely recovered my health. I may say I had no faitb in it at first, but the regult was such-a thorough cure that I consider it my duty to acknorledge, unsolicited, its curative powers.—l am, Sir, faithfully yours, W. Fabquhab, Master Mariner, Ponsonby.—To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. "^s». Ihe Proprietor would here intimate tbat £1,000 will be forfeited to any Charitable Institution if the good done by his Medicine has been over estimated. The Proprietor is prepared to meet on a public platform any persons who dispute the veracity of testimonials, and he will undertake to prove the genuineness of the cures effected. He is ale© willing to meet in public the medical gentlemen who have attended the.patient! and have pronounced them incurable, and answer questions put relative to the facts of the cases quoted. Medical men's names have, from motives of consideration, been excluded from all testimonials, but then personal acknowledgment would add increased brilliancy to the fa tie of the medicine. Mr Alex. Eagletojt, Hairdresser, of Queen etrect, Auckland, suffered with » paralysed arm, with every indication of the disease spreading through the body. The doctors pronounced the case hopeless, and friends believtd his end was drawing near, when he waa induced to give Hitchens's Blood Restorer a trial, the result being an immediate ohaage for the better; and on continuing to take the medicine, he was completely restored to health and strength. ■''•"' .MrD. R. CHISHOIM, Agent for Mr Hitohenß.—Dear Sir,—lt is with heartfelt thanks I am able to endorse the sterling qualities of M$ Hitchens's invaluable Blood Restorer. Being induced by Mr Dish or, who spoke in eulogistic terms of its merits, to place* my wife "(who was suffering very acutely with Rheumatic Fever) under its treatment, I am very happy to state the medicine has acted quite magically. After a few doses pain entirely cetsed, and she is making rapid progress, and is now enabled to resume her household duties. Acting so beneficially, I would not be without such a valuable remedy, and should impress upon these who are similarly suffering not to overlook this specific, which is inestimable.—Believe me. yours very sincerely, THOMAB BROWN, BriUania Heights, Nelson. Maraiti (near Ho wick), Auckland, 17th August, 1882.' To H. A. H. HiiCHEBS.—Sir,—I bad been for five years suffering from an ulcerated leg, and after being twice under treatment in the Auckland Hospital, without any improve* ment, I was induced to give your blocd restorer a trial, and am ptoud to sayjfter four bottles and the use of your Ointment, I became quite well. Please accept my warmest thanks, and give this what publicity you wish; that others may benefit thereby.—Yours, most respectfully, CHARLES MORGAN, Maraiti. . . Sheridan etreet, off Wellington street, Auckland, Dec. 1,1882. Mr Hitohbnb.—Dear Sir,—-As you have asked me to describe my state at the time Mr McMillan recommended me to use your Blood Restorer, and the effect it had on me,. I will' simply ,say.,.that^whe.ther, it w^Lumbago, Sciatica, or Paralysis tbat made me so helpless, I do not know; but, at any rate, I was unable to stand for nine months, and had to be lifted like a baby, and my taste was entirely gone. Dr ■ — said I bad an affection of the spine, and tbat I should never have the use of my limbs again. He brought another medical man to see me, and I was told that I would probably live only a thorttime, and it teas no use of their holding out falte hopes. I thanked them, and felt as they did. Mr McMillan, living opposite, inquired what was the matter, and my husband told him, -He at once said, "Let her take Mr Hitchen's Blood Restorer, for I believe that will put her all right" I did so, and after using the third bottle in the third week, I began to feel a change, and ii tingling sensation in my limbs. Every subsequent bottle seemed to be doing me more good. The result is that after using eight bottles, lam now quite well, do my own waehing, and all the housework, and feel quite as.well as when I firet came to New Zealand five yean ago. I am always happy to tell people the good you did me, for lam sure I should not now bo well and hearty, but most likely in my grave, if I had not put myself in your bends. —I am, dear sir, yours faithfully, FLORA NICOL. "Witness—HENßY HAHINOLL, Nelson street. I have much pleasure in testifying to the perfect accuracy of the above , statement.—N. MoMILLAN, Vulcan Lane, Auckland. . H. A. H. Coiiis Bbowne's Chlobodxnb, has earned for.itself, not only in Hindostan, bub all over the East. As a remedy of general utility, we much question whether a better is imported into the country, and we shall be glad to hear of its finding aplaee in every Anglo-Indian home. The other brands, we are happy to say, ore now relegated to.the native bazaars, and, judging from their sale, we. noy their sojourn there will be but evanescent. We could multiply instances a& infvnii m of the extraordinary efficacy of D»., Collis Beowne'b CHIiORQDXJnj in Diarrhoea and Dyt^ntery, Spasms, Cramps, Neuralgia,"" the Vomiting of Pregnancy, and as a general sedative, that nave occurred under our "personal observation during many years. In Choleraic Diarrhoea, and evtm in the more terrible forms of Cholera itself, we have witnessed its surprisingly controlling power. We have never used any other form of this medicine than Collis Browne's, from a firm conviction'that it is decidedly the beet, and also from a sense of duty wo owe to the profession.and the public, as we are of opinion that the substitution of any other than Collis Browne's is a DBMBIBATB BBBACH 07 FAITH ON THH FAST 07 THE CHEMIST TO PBESCBIBBB AHD.
