The Hape Creek District.

True Briton.—Greenville and.patty, the proprietors of this claim, are. now cleaning out the bottom level, and yesterday had completed over 70 feet, laywg rails, timbering, &c. They hate about 350 feet of this work to do before they come up to. the fice of the reef, and if the above rate of progress is maintained, they expect to reach that point in about a month from now. This will give them about 100 ft of backs, independent of the \6p level; besides a great desideratum will be gained—the landing of their quartz from all levels, with about 30 feet of a shoot, straight on to the road, so that sledging will be done away with. We believe that this level will also serve Dunlop and party's ground, and if we understand right they will conjointly maintain and keep it in repair. The outlook of the above mine ia, we consider, very cheerful, and warrants the great amount of dead work and preparation previouti to stoping out operations. Little Djlvid— Dunlop and party have holed through to the winze from the upper level, and now that they have got rid of that useful, but in their case troublesome element—water—they expect to be able to stopo out successfully' tht rich run of quartz from which they have ■ obtained their late crushings. The dip of their shot of gold will, in about 40 or 60 feet, traverse their ground; when* it is expected to be picked up by the True Briton people. Little Bella.—McCormick and> party, the owcers of this claim,, are still on gold in their lately discovered reef, and are very sanguine of its ultimate payableness. v •** ;/-_-;' From other mines in this* district there is very little change to report, but we may say a large nuniber of men are vigorously prospecting in: the neighborhood, and we have no doubt that some impbr* tant discovery will be the result sooner or later, as instance the- outcome, of the untiring energy and perseverance of the North Star owners, who- well deserve the reward they have.met with.
