A series of experiments was made yesterday afternoon at Fitzroy with a gasmotor for tram-cars. A car containing twenty persons travelled at the rate of 9f miles an hour, and the trial proved a complete success.

It is reported from Newcastle that the schooner Grace Lynne collided with the steamer Naomi -.off that port last night. The Grace Lynne sank shortly after the collision, but her crew was picked up by the Naouji, aud no lives were lopt*
