Tauranga Election.
(FEOM A CO-RESPONDENT.) **
Katjkati, This day,
Mr Kelly addressed the electors in the Town Hall last night; when mostly all the settlers were present, Captain MaeMillan being in the Chair. He introduced Mr Kelly to the meeting by stating that he was a member of the County Council, and asked the meeting to support him on that account. Mr Kelly was well-received, and at the conclusion of'his address Mr Andrew Turner proposed, and Mr Joseph E, Slavin seconded, a vote of confidence. Mr Killen, J.P. and County Councillor, spoke to the motion, and disputed Mr Sheehan's statements relative to the local candidate calling upon the electors to support the local man and not to give any support whatever to an outsider sent here from Napier. The vote of confidence was carried by acclamation, ooly one hand being held up against it.
