Mr George Thorne, junr., has been appointed manager for the Middle Island of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States. The 25th annual report of the society just received shows unparalleled figures—the new policies issued last year exceeded £17,600,000, while the surplus cash profit exceeded £2,839,0000, and the assets exceed £12,000,000 sterling.
