• ■ CAMBEIA. The reef in the drive at No. 3 level continues to look well, carrying good minerals, but so far no gold has been observed. The stopes above No. 2 level are still turning out payable crashing dirt. . MOANATAIEt EXTENDED. In the north»eaat crosscut a clay seam, through which there is a little rubbly quartz, has been met with, but this has now been cut through, and good sandstone is again appearing on the other side. The crosscut should bo Within a few feet of Montgomery's shaft. Excellent progress is being made wilh the sinking of the shaft, which is now down 118 ft below No. 1 level. THAMES GOLDEN CROWN. The quartz which was met with in the | shaft yesterday proves to be a nice-look-ing reef, from 18 inches to 2ft in thickness, and contains excellent minerals, while colors of gold have also been observed. The shaft is now down a distance of 302 ft, and it is the manager's intention to discontinue sinking operations, and open out upon thelode just cut. CALEDONIAN. ' The winze on No. 1 reef at No. 2 level is now down a distance of 15ffc., and in breaking the reef, which is at present about 2ft. wide, colors of gold continue to be seen, so the dirt will no doubt prove payable. In the eastward drive on the Red Qaeen leader at Wo. 3 level the leader is about Jft. in thickness, and in breaking it to-day, a few good stone were taken out. Gold is also seen in breaking the reef in the stopes west of the winze. NEW MANUKAU. . Stoping is proceeding on No. 3 leader, and colors of gold are frequently seen in the quartz. The crosscut is also being extended, and several veins are crossing the face, but.the manager is of opinion that there is a leader close by. GOLD RETURNS. Kubahui Hill—-Kirby and party, tributers, have banked loz Bdwts gold.
