Southern Mining.
Mining matters at Waipori are about to revive. For some time past, owing to the number of workmen in the mines beiog reduced, many of the residents had to seek employment in other parts of tha country. Lately, however, Messrs Cox and Clifford's Little Maud claim has been turning out Tvry satisfactory returns ; mdv the Undaunted Company (Messrs Caud* well and party), whose mine is situated in close proximity to the township, are about to resume operations. The company have secured one of Twinning's gold saving apparatus for securing the fine gold. Mr Black (the manager of the mind) informs us that he finds it difficult to secure the services of men who are accustomed to reefing. .Should the yield of gold from this mine turn out satisfactory, it will be the means of giving a great impetus to the mining industry in the Waipori district. - Tuapeka Times.
