OUR MINES.

CAMBRIA. c Small parcels of picked stone continue to come to hand from the stopes above the 230 ft and intermediate levels. Instructions have been received to retort the amalgam on hand' on Monday. KURANUI HILL. The trial parcel of several loads from No. 2 leader at the 80ft Albion level has proved non-payable, notwithstanding that two previous lots averaged an ounce to the load. Le Manquais' level has now been cleaned out, and the Wheel of Fortune leader is expected to hand on Monday. The manager is of opinion that there is a considerable block available. ' MOANATAIRI EXTENDED. The contractors have finished their contract, having sunk 50ft. in three weeks. It is now down to the depth^of No. 2Cambria level, and an opening set will be put in. The manager purposes continuing the shaft betweon 70 and 80ft. further, so as to bring it even; with the Cambria No. 3 level. There is little change elsewhero. In the north-eastern drive there is good sandstone country on the left side, and it seems to be coming across the face. Some quartz stringers are visible, and a little water is flowing.

QUEEN OF BEAUTY. Owing to the increased supply of water in the ..County race, the pump is making excellent headway in reducing the water in the shaft, and the water, which during the stoppage rose to a height of 40ft, is now within 7ft of the bottom, so that the water will probably be down in time for the men to resume work on No,. 2 reef to morrow night. It is very satisfactory to note that gold was seen at the last break* ing down of this reef, and a dishful of stone brought to- the surface yielded an excellent prospect, so that the stuff will probably prove payable when crushed. The men who were employed at No. 11 level are now, engaged sinkinga winze on No. 1 reef, in/which-the quartz look well, and carries favorable minerals, though no gold has yet been seen. The contractors on the winze on the main reef, at No. 10 level, are making excellent headway, and are now down a distance of about 18ft.

BRIGHT SMILE. The manager to-day secured lolbs of specimens from the reef in the winze on the No. 2, or fbotwal leader. In the drive, the reef looks well, carrying good minerals, and colors, and dabs of gold are seen freely each breaking down.
