This day. . Shocking Suicide. Bobert McKelvie, who attempted to tnurder Steward in Mrs Benson's boarding house on Thursday last, was seen entering the Titirangi bash, about 15 miles from here, last' night. About a dozen constables are in pursuit. Latek. News has just reached town that this morning mounted Constable Kelly and Detective Hughes caught sight of McKelvic near the old Whau Blockhouse, and'pursupd-liim. McKel'vie, seeing capture inevitable, shot himself with a revolver. Latest. Further intelligence is to hand regarding McKelvie's suicide. Detective Hughes and Mounted" Constable' Kelly hud been hunting for him yesterday and last , night, but this morning they got on his track, and pursued him to the vicinity of an old blockhouse about eight miles from here. When they were within 150' yards of him, he disappeared into some scrub, and immediately after they heard a shot fired. Thoy subsequently found him quite dead, with a bullet wound in his head. The. body is now bejng brought to town. Aaotier Suicide, The autopsy of the body of Vaughan (W. Thome) shows that be died of' arsenical poisoning. There is no sign of the Hmemoa yet. Four of the big guos arc now on the .North Head fortifications. A tender has been accepted for the erection of a torpedo shed and slip at 'Perouport,
