The returns of gold for the week are as follows :—New Find company, 55ozs retorted from 31 trucks general stuff and tailings ; a trial parcel of ten trucks stone yielded 7£ozs retorted. Three trucks crushed by the Wellington tributers gave llozs lldwts retorted. At the battery, New Find, Diamond Gulley, and Eureka are employing ten stampers each, the remainder of the crushing force being idle for want of water and quartz. In berdanning 32 basins ore working for New Find, and three on Premier tailings.
