This day. In the Supreme Court, Andrew Purvis claims £SCO damages from David Crawford, for libel. Plaintiff bad been master of a State School at Strath-Taieri, of which defendant was chairman. Plaintiff was dismissed under clause 47, for misconduct, without an opportunity being given him for explanation. Plaintiff wrote a letter to defendant, attacking the Commit lee generally, and defendant in particular. To this defendant replied, making the allegations which form the subject of the alleged libel. I
At the City Court it was held that a photographer's premises came under the operation of the Factories Act, and the Bench inflicted nominal penalties for breaches of it.
