AUCKLAND.
This day.
A scene occurred at the distribution of prizes won at the Ponsonby Eegatta. Mr W&ymouth, a City Councillor, who had won a cup, threw it on the floor and trod on it, because it was not silver. The cup was presented by Mr Levrisson, jeweller. . The Provincial Grand Master of the Irish Constitution of Freemasons (Mr G. P. Pierce) received a reply from H.R.H. the Prince of Wales to the congratulatory telegram sent last week to the Grand Lodge in Dublin upon the occasion of the Prince's visit to Ireland. His Boyal Highness thanks the Provincial. Grand Master most sincerely for the telegram, and for the good wishes contained therein.
