[To thft Editor of the Evening Star.J ' Sib.—Bj the Herald I leern that the v local option votes for the increase of ' - licensed houses has been carried in two of ': your districts by l4for and only 9 Bearcat. The friends of temperance may well ask, Whtt are the churches and the ministers •bout, that they,can only muster' 9 votes - Mob, in tiro districts in favor of restriction in the liquor traffic? The ministers nil] do well to tend their members back to the New Testament, to study the example of the Master who went about doing good, ' restoring the outcasts, and gathering the wanderers into the fold.
