In the case of Mac Andrew v. Fraser (Mayor), Bawden, and Eenshaw (Councillors), in the Supreme Court to-day, after considerable argument between counsel, Justice Gillies gave judgment as follows :—No case as against Bawden and Rensbow, but the Mayor must allow Mac Andrew, Hume," and Chappell to vote on the question of morging the Ward. Each party to pay their own costs.

The fact of this case coming on to-day prevented the Mayor returning; with the Volunteers. ■.-. „*..•-., ; ;
