The cricket match England v. Australia was resumed today, when the Englishmen, who at the close of yesterday's play had made 270, continued their first innings, which closed for 386 runs, towards which Shrewsbury contributed 105 (not out), Bates (caught) 61, Briggs (caught) 43, and Peel (bowled; 18.
The Australians, who were 222 behind their opponents, then commenced their second innings, and at the conclusion of the day's play had scored 105 runs with the loss of seven wickets. The principal scorers were Giffen (caught) 12, Horan (bowled) 20, Jones (bowled) 17, Trimble (1.b.w.) 10, and Bruce (not out) 26.
