NELSON.
This day. A. narrow escape from a serious fire took place yesterday morning at 4 o'clock. The constable on duty observed a fire breaking through the roof in the rear of Beeves and Co.'s auction room, but with the aid of the night-watchman and others, extinguished the same before much damage was done.
