OUR MINES.

QUEEN OF BEAUTY.

The reef mentioned last night as having been cut in the west crosscut proves tq be a defined lode 18 inches wide, striking at right angles across the drive, and dipping flat to the north-eastward. The quartz is rubbly in nature, but is: by far the most promising yet>intersected at No. 11. A great deal of water is issuing from the lode, which appears to be the hangingwall one of the series of stringers and veins which have been passed through during the past loft., as clean sandstone appears beyond. This is no doubt the lode Mr Badford has been in search of, and from ita general characteristics, it would bo no surprise if it carried a fair percentage of gold without showing any in breaking. The leaders cut some 15ft. back are still being driven on. ■

KOCKY POINT. The mine manager reports as follows: No. 1 reef (south crosscut.) The leading stope is being carried orer the west drive, but no quartz has been broken down during t,be week, with the exception of a little broken accidentally by a shot in the dig, in which a few colours of gold were seen. Eastward, the leading slope is also being carried over, between the No. 1 re xef and branch leader. From the former about 51bs of picked stone were obtained, and from the latter about lolbs for the week. The stopes ou the Adeliade reef are without change. Gold is seen every breaking down, but no picked stone obtained. On the Adelaide No. 2 level, the men are making excellent progress, having driven 56 feet since they started.
