Napier, Yesterday. The following are the particulars of the running for the

Hurdle Race of ISOsova, 2| miles,— Profit's Maccaroni (Edwards), list 81bs, 1; Gilpin's Pastime (Gilpin), lOlbs lib, 2; Ellingham's Denbigh (Warren), lOst 4lbs, 3. Also ran->-Dennett's Faugh-a-Ballagh (Honor), 9st, and Gilpin's Messenger (Robinson), 9st, Denbigh got the best of the start, Faugh-a-Ballagb. and Pastime next, Messenger last. Passing the stand the first time the order was-^ Faugh-a«Ballagh, Pustime, Maccaroni, Denbigh, Messenger. At the back of the course Pastime and Maccaroni left the field and got a loDg lead; passing the stand the second time, Pastime and Maccaroni were together, Faugh~aßailagh third, and Denbigh still last. In this order the next hurdle was taken. At the last hurdle Maccaroni and Pastime took it together, Denbigh being in the third place, Faugh a-Ballagh and Messenger falling here. A splendid race took place up the straight, Maccaroni winning a i good race by half a length, Denbigh, halfr adozen lengths away, third. Dividends :. Inside, £2 ss; outside,, £2 10s—there being 1368 in the totalisa'tor, the largest amount ever invested here.
