OUR MINES.
CAMBRIA.
DuriDg the past week about 85 loads of general dirt hare been crushed, for the yield of 2520z» of amalgam.-. Tenders are called elsewhere for driving at No. 3 leTel to connect with the big winze.
v DEEP LEVEL GROSS. _
Betorting. took place to-day, and the return of melted gold was the very fair one of B^ozb 6dwts from 27 loads of general dirt, and a few pounds of picked stone. Tile quartz was chiefly from the drire on the No. 2 reef at the Saxon No. 5 leTel, tout the -lend is unfortunately lather small. The remainder of the crushing stuff came from No. 3 reef at the same leTel. The No. 6 leader is now being driren on and stoped at the Imperial No. 5 lere).
CALEDONIAN LOW LEVEL.
The reef cut in the north crosscut at the 640 ft lerel proT«s to be between three and fourfeetthick, and much of the quartz is ▼cry promising, containing good minerals. The crushing of the trial parcel from the crossieader in thesouth crosscut is proceeding, ar.d should be finished on Friday or Saturday. There is a little amalgam ■howing on the plates, and more is expected from the berdans and boxes.
NEW MANUEAU.
A parcel of about 20 tons of quartz from the leader in hand at the Crown battery level, has been crushed, and the treatment of the blanketings will be finished to-night. The amalgam will be retorted to-morrow, a return of between three and four ounces of gold per ton being expected.
SAXON.
>The manager ti-day lodged ~290za '6dwts melted gold, the payable yield from 24. loads of general dirt (with a small parcel of specimens), broken from No. 3 reef at No. 5 level, and the hang* ingwall leader of No. 1 reef at No. 3 level.
DART.
The crosscut at Noi 3 lerel has now been advanced a total distance of about 135 ft, and lately the country has much improved, the sandstone being at present d a good white class, with mineral soams ttriking through it. The Mount Pleasant No. 3 reef should be cut within 80ft. It was a good-sized lode, and was of payable grade, where lait worked, and as two other reefs should clip into it before the level now being driven is reached, the manager is very sanguine of the lode being both large and payable.
BEIGHT SMILE.
The manager is driving on the leader lately cut in the crosscut at the Multum level. Us size is from 6 to 1 inches, and fold is seen, eacli breaking down, though as yet specimens have not come to hand.
