The Governor received a telegram yesterday stating that the Queen is greatly gratified at the account of the -departure of the New South Wales contingent, and the enthusiasm displayed by her loyal subjects. The Agent-General wires the Government that the London Times speaks of the embarkatiou of the troops as the most gratifying event in the history of the Empire, and promises a hearty welcome for the men at Suakim. The Pall Mall Gazette says no more cheering.lines have ever appeared in the English newspapers than those which record the complete success of the move* ment of New South Wales and the intense enthusiasm displayed. . • Melbourne, Yesterday. Tho Victorian Government have received a telegram from Earl Derby similar to that received by South Australia as to the acceptance of further colonial troops for the Soudan. It is imprqbable that the Ministry will do anything in the matter until Parliament meets. Adelaide, Yesterday." The Advertiser newspaper severely con? demns the proposal to despatch a South Australian contingent to Egypt.
