Colonial Troops for the Soudan It is.certain that Victoria's offer will be accepted. The troops are not likely to be called out before September, or. the beginning of "October, as there is to be no summer campaign. Commenting on the determination arrived at by the Cabinet the Times expresses regret that all the Australasian colonies are not allowed lo share in restoring order in Egypt. London, February 18. H. G. ForbeSj who is the head of the expedition to the south-eastern portion of New Guinea, under the auspices of the Royal Geographical Society, states that he is willing to co-operate with the Rev. Lawes in exploring the island.

Her Majesty bas written an autograph letter "to-Karl per.by, in which she thanks the Australia!! Coloniea for their patriotic offer ol assistance to the Mother Country.

Sir A: Blyth, Agent-General for South Australia, in S speech delivered at a meet-: ing of the London Chamber of Commerce, supported the proposal made by the Hon. E. Ashley, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, to allow the Australian Colonies to bo represeiited in the House of Commons through their Agents-General. He, however, objected to the suggestion that the colonial representatives should not be allowed to vote. .
