Harvesting hasalready started in several parts of the district, the recent hot weather having cauned the crops to ripen fast. The^. yield is expected to be above that of lasfc year, although the small bird nuisance will affect the result in-some cases. A large area has been devoted to oats, and the amount of wheat grown is much below former years.
