Hanlon and Clifford are doing good training work for the sculling match, which takes place between them on Saturday next. Both men hare done'excellent trials, and both are in good condition. The betting is two to one on Hanlon.

In connection with the bootmakers' strike a committee has been appointed consisting of friends of manufacturers and nominees of the trade, who shall in council devise means of reconciling the masters and men in the present difficulty.
