At the annual meeting of the Gas Company to»day, a ten per cent, dividend was declared. The Chairman stated that during the year the gas consumption had increased twenly percent., and pipes had been ordered for two miles' extension of the mains. The directors had resolved to reduce the price to 10s for lighting, and 7a 6d for stoves and engines, to take effect from April. A requisition from Hastings had been received applying for gas, which the directors had- under consideration, and it was quite probable that operations might be extended to that town.
