Alarming Bush. Fires.
The dry weather, for the past.few w>eki* has led to the outbreak of alarming bush fires. A vast conflagration is raging in the bush near Napier, and today telegrams received in town state that a terrible fire has got hold of the bush at Coromandel. For the last 36 hours this fire .has raged causing great destruction. The -manageri of the Tokatea G.M. Co. has managed to save the battery-and houses belonging to the Company, but the danger i« not yet over. It is reported that another big fire in the direction of Mercury Bay hag cut off all communication between that place and Coromandel.—Star..
