Atrocious Murderand Attempted Bank Robbery-
The manager, Mr Anketell, and the accountant, Mr Burrup, of the Union Bank at Boeburn, have been tomahawked and killed on the bank premises. The key of the safe was stolen, but no money was abstracted. At present there is no clue to the murderers.

The Conference on the tariff question, between the representatives of Victoria and Tasmania, was continued yesterday, and further adjourned. Nothing definite is known as to the progress of negotiations. Melbourne, This day. Mr James Anthony Froude will shortly visit New Zealand privately.
