The Standard to-day publishes a tele~ gram from Egypt announcing that Mustapha Pas hi Fetnhi demands the service of a small force of Turkish troops I to garrison Cairo in conjunction with the British troops now doing duty there. London, January 10. Consols ha^e advanced to 99|. New Zealand securities are unchanged. Breadstuffs, ex store, without quotable change. For off coast cargoes—Adelaide wheat, quoted at 375. The market rate of discount has advanced to 3^ per cent., and Bank rate is 5 per cent. New Yoek, January 12. The victim of the Invincible outrage at O'Donovan Kossa'a office was not killed by his assailants, and although the wounds are serious, his recovery is expected. He is a man of Irish extraction, and is named Phelan. London, January 12. The Press generally do not support the proposed annexation of Samoa by New Zealand.
