The colonial office authorities oonsider it impossible that France will now seize the New Hebrides group. Tho Oriental Bank have purchased the assets of tlie old company, comprising £1,500,000 worth of shares, and £750,000 ot» debentures, wbioh were acquired altogether for £1,900,000. The assets are Talued at £2,500,000, with the benefit of a full call being made on the shares.
