It is now very unlikely there will be united action on the part of the colonies in protesting against the German Protectorate over iiew Guinea, as differences exist as to hew to make the pro ceeding. South Australia has now definitely declined to join.the proposed protest, and Western Australia is unable to do so, as it is a Crov» n Colony, public meetings are being convened here and at other towns in support of the protest. , A cricket match between the Englishmen and a combined Australian team will be commenced here to-morrow. The combined team will consist of Bruce, Horan, Jarvis, Jones, Morris, Robertson, Trimble, Marr, Musgrave, Pope, and Warrall.

Monsignore Luck, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, arrived here by the Messageries Company's steamer Yarra, from Marseilles, November 19, en route to Auckland.
Sailed, this afternoon : The steamship Te Anau, for the Bluff.
Albany, Yesterday
The P. and O. steamship Ballarat, with the Brindisi mails dated London, October 28, arrived in King George's Sound this morning.
