General Earls frill shortly advance against the Arabs near Merawe, to punish-them for the '•murder of Colonel Stewart at Wad-el-homar. An expedition will advance towards* Khartoum as soon as supplies have reached Gakdul, but a strong garrison will remain at Korti.
