The season of gladness has once more arrived, and Itf every home where affliction is unknown, thoughts of pleasure are, from time honored custom, existent. The merry time of year which, by some transmitting influence, gladdens young and old, will be again welcomed as it has been for so many centuries. The many differences which have arisen between men should be forgotten, and peace and goodwill reign supreme on earth at this, if at no other, time. Since we last greeted our readers, many changes have taken place, familiar faces have been removed, and alas j how many hands that firmly gripped their fellow man's last year, are now for ever stilled. However, let all sad thoughts be r^rerently laid aside, and pleasing rrraini •seenccs foe rather indulged in. The unity of friends, tLe pjeetings of families, the association of kindred, end such things as tend to the promotion of human "nappioess are meet end fitting for indulgence in during this term of gladness. Old world memories wili arise, #q$ thoughts of Home and friends be heartily fpyiyed.
