(7BOH OTTB OWN COBBBSPONDBNT.)

Paeboa, This day. KABANGAHAKE. I vanhoe.—Crushing with 12 head of stampers is now proceeding at the Hau^ raki battery, and the show on the plates would indicate a return of l^oz. per ton. At the mine good headway is being made with the work of sinking the winze near the southern boundary, and the low level leading stope is yielding a large amount of good crushing dirt. In order to test the value of the reef below the low level, the manager started a winze some time since, and the stone obtained therefrom is superior to anything of the kind met ill the mine hitherto.

Pie Walteb Scott. — Driving north from a point about 25 feet down the winze connecting the low level with the intermediate, was started last week, and the manager expects to meet with some good stone in that direction.

Woodstock.—Cleaning up and retorting for this claim took place on Saturday, the result being 90ozs 19dwtg retorted gold from 77 tons. The shareholders have started to sink a winze so as to connect the intermediate workings with the low level which is also in progress. This level affords 120 ft. of backs on the reef, and 30ft. remains to be driven in order to reach under the point of present operations. [The weight of melted gold was 87ojss 2dwts, and tbe price 43s Id per ounce.] Golden Crown. —The new level is now in a distance of 90ft., and the manager expects to meet with the reef in a few feet more driving. s Hidden Tbeasube.—The proprietors of this claim are now crushing a parcel of 15 tons at the Hauraki battery, and it is shaping for a return of 3ozs per ton. Mabtha.—Crushing for this claim will be started as soon as the battery is avail" able.

WAIHI. Mahtha G.M. Co.—Things generally in this mine are now looking remarkably well, especially the wioze which is being suuk beneath the Company's low level. At the battery, 20 head of stampers are fully employed, and the Christmas clean op ought to be a good one.
