(Beceived December 5, 1.10 p.m.) London, December 4. T&e Mignonette Cannibalism.— Captain &n& Mats Convicted for Murder. The trial of the captain and mate of the yacht Mipnoietie, ior the murder of the
boy Parker, was concluded to-day by a special court. The Judges decided that the prisoners were guilty of murder, and sentence will be passed on them on Tues-
day next.

Eleven of those on board the ship Berengaria, from Melbourne to London, wrecked on the coast of Essex, were rescued, but the captain and sixteen others missing.
The new Postmaster-General baa decided that all mails for New Zealand shall be sent alternately by the San Francisco route and direct steamer.
The cholera has broken out amongst the crews of the French fleet stationed at the Island of Formosa.
M. Ferry's party have been defeated in the Chamber of Deputies and Senatorial elections.
