STEICTEST SECEEOY !!! j|.| R FERGUSSON may tfe Consulted ivi FREE on Diseases of Young Men, at his Private Consulting Room (next Atkins' Printing Office), High Btreefc, Auckland. Hours : 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening, 7to 8 p.m. Dbsceiptite Pamphiets Free. . Diseased Nature oftentimes breaks forth in strange eruptions."—Act iii, Scene 1. TO THE PUBLIC. SOME patients suffering from nervous affections are afraid from sheer bashfulness and modesty to pebsonaliy consult a medical man—other patients have not the self-possession and coolness when in the consulting loom, to accurately describe their symptoms —their habits of life, and the nature of the disease they suffer from. Let suoh persons (be or she) sit quietly down in the privacy of their own apartments, and with calm minds describe clearly each symptom of their case, a clear statement thus written, and laid before me is, far preferable in NEEVOUS diseases to a personal consultation. Where, however, a disease is of a peculiar and exceptional character, a personal consultation may become necsssary 3 but my success in correspondence is so great, that of the thousands upon thousands whom I have treated by letter during the last 32 years, not a single mistake has ever occurred, not a caee has ever been made public—in fact the very simplicity of my syetem of correspondence prevents publicity. At the same time medicines are sent to my patients in such a form as to defy detection. How many thousands have I not brought joy to ? How many have been enabled to enter into the marriage state through consulting me ? How mauy after marriage have privately consulted me and been blessed and their married lives made fruitful and happy. How many wasted ruined youths of both sexes have also been restored to health, and thanked their manhood, for having consulted me by letter. How many questions arise where the family physician la unable to unravel the case and where often the patient lingers on, not dariug to tell bis ..fumily medical adviser the nature of his complaint, until consumption wasting, or mental diseases, set in and tbe sufferer gets beyond the curiable stage, and is left|a hopeless wreck. Ik letter written in the privacy of the room and dropped in the post box reaches me quietly ; tbe answer is returned us quietly and unoßtentatiouely, and the patient, without stepping from his chamber, except to post his letter, is by return of post put in full possession of the nature of hia case. His hopes are rrised his doubts removed, and he iB comparatively a new man ; in fact;, in many cases, a new beiDg altogether. The only addition to the ordinary written letter is tbe ago occupation, habits aud symptoms, nothing more. The usual consultation fee of £1 (one pound) must be enclosod, otherwiso no answci 1 will be returned. There are thousands of caseß in daily life where a consultation with one at a distance will remove by a single letter a great fear, a great care, and it often Bolves what appears as an impenetrable mystery. Many a sad heart has been made joyful on receipt of an explanatory letter from me. To those who are about to marry, I would say consult me before doing so, and thus prevent many after troubles, and remove many unnecessary feara and prejudices ; to those, more especially, who have suffered' in early years from disease, or who have yielded fca their pas3ions. To these I say, at once, consult with me, do not tarry, delays are dangerous, and as au expert, my time may not be alwayß at your service, you can, by ismply enclosing one poiind, have the benefit of my experience jn the game manner as if I livedin your town, and' with tne additional advantage of tbprough priyaoy.—Yours, truly, LOUIS L. SMITH. Addrega-^ PB L. L, SMITH. 182 COLLINS STREET EAST Melbourne, CONSULTATION FEE BY LETTER, #1. . Fee far personal Coßpiiibation, $1 %. The latter is inclusive of Medicine. Medicines forwarded, well-packed,' to all the Colonies, India and Europe. 183, CCKOITMS STEBET B.ABT, MSEBOUSNE.
