NOMINATIONS fob SOUTH WARD

The nomination of candidates for the vacant seat in the Boro.ugii Council to represent South Ward, caused by the resignation of Mr W. J. Speight, took place in the Richmond street hall to-day in the presence of Mr E. Hoaiss, Returning Officer, when

Mr John Ebnest Hansen was nominated by Messrs Hobt. T. Doug las and John Danby, and

Mr; Theodore Wood by Messrs John 8. Hart and James McGowan.

A poll will be taken for the selection of one candidate on Thursday, the 27th inst., in the Oddfellows' Hall, Richmond street, Shortland.
