THE SOUDAN.
Caibo, November 1.
A telegram has been received from Sir C. "W. Wilson head of the intelligence department attached to Lord Wolseley's staff, stating that he had received a report which he believed to be true to the effect that the Mahdi's forces attacked General Gordon opposite Khartoum and were repulsed with heavy loss.
(Received November 3, 11.30 a.m.) Cairo, November 2, Lord Wolseley and staff have arrived at Dongola.
