In the Legislative Assembly last night, the Convention resolution was brought up for discussion. Sir John Robertson moved, the previous qnestion, which was carried by 22 votes to 21. After a lengthy debate, which lasted till midnight, it was resolved that a due proportion of the cost of establishing a protectorate over New Guinea will, however, b3 paid by this colony. The prorogation will take place to-morrow.
The Bank of New South Wales has declared a dividend, for the past half-year, at the rate of 15 per cent, per annum, with a bonus of 2\ per cent., and has carried £10,000 to the reserve fund. Cricket. Adelaide, Yesterday. The cricketers returned from England commenced a match to-day against fifteen of Adelaide. The local team went in first, and at the close of the day's play had lost 10 wickets for 164 runs.
